If you want to succeed in achieving your goal, you also need to set your mind to it. These growth mindset quotes will inspire you to get on the path of self-resistance and become unstoppable.

I have been working on my mindset for a long time now and it changed my entire view of the world completely. I have been reading books by the greatest achievers and thinkers. And I have turned around the way I understand the reality around me and how we function.

The first biggest change that I have made which brought me to pursue my dream life, (and live it) is the understanding that we are 100% responsible for what happens to us, not the system, not God, not our insensitive companion, or a retrograde Mercury.

It’s all us and the choice we make. Because, yes, we always have a choice, even when you think you don’t.

Once we understand this simple concept and we work towards changing our thoughts and our choices, that’s when the magic happens.

Mind though, that it is just the starting point, not the finish line. And it’s not easy. It is a constant nurturing of your mind with understanding and learning. Believing in your capability but also working hard towards what you want.

It’s about understanding that if it doesn’t work, it’s not because of the system, or the others, it’s because you are doing something wrong that needs to be changed, or that we needed to learn a lesson. The process is different for anyone.

We need to know ourselves well enough to understand it. Nobody can tell us more than we can.

The concept of Growth Mindset has been studied and defined by Standford University researcher Carol Dweck who says (quote):

In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.

“No matter what your ability is, effort is what ignites that ability and turns it into accomplishment.”

Carol Dweck

Isn’t it relieving to know that it’s all about putting in the work and not about the talents you were born to?

These quotes that I am about to share are not only inspirational but real actionable suggestions on how you should approach life and make your choices in order to be successful in every aspect of your life.

And no, even if you hear the overrated phrase “law of attraction” I can it is not fluffy stuff.

Your thoughts influence your actions which shape your reality. It’s based on logic, not pure fantasy. And yes you’ve got to do the work. Like my favorite human and fervent supporter of the law of attraction, Jim Carrey said, “you cannot just believe in it and go eat a sandwich!” You’ve got to do the work!

I love to take notes of phrases from the books and articles that I am reading that I find significant or strike a chord. So I thought I should put them together with the hope to help you get inspired too!

You’re better off spending time alone than spending time with people who will hold you back with their victim mentality and their mediocre standards. Make a conscious effort to surround yourself with positive, nourishing, and uplifting people—people who believe in you, encourage you to go after your dreams and applaud your victories. Surround yourself with possibility thinkers, idealists,”

The Compound Effect

I have been recently reading The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy and I found it extremely powerful and with many inspirational thoughts but also actionable tips. Here are some of my favorite quotes from the book.

“You will never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”

“Don’t wish it were easier; wish you were better.”

“You alone are responsible for what you do, don’t do, or how you respond to what’s done to you.”

“Forget about willpower. It’s time for why-power. Your choices are only meaningful when you connect them to your desires and dreams. The wisest and most motivating choices are the ones aligned with that which you identify as your purpose, your core self, and your highest values. You’ve got to want something, and know why you want it, or you’ll end up giving up too easily.”

On the power of “why,” a great book is Start with Why by Simon Sinek

responsibility quote

“It’s not the big things that add up in the end; it’s the hundreds, thousands, or millions of little things that separate the ordinary from the extraordinary.”

And here is what I also think about being lucky:

“The (Complete) Formula for Getting Lucky: Preparation (personal growth) + Attitude (belief/mindset) + Opportunity (a good thing coming your way) + Action (doing something about it) = Luck”

“Your biggest challenge isn’t that you’ve intentionally been making bad choices. Heck, that would be easy to fix. Your biggest challenge is that you’ve been sleepwalking through your choices.”

“The real cost of a four-dollar-a-day coffee habit over 20 years is $51,833.79. That’s the power of The Compound Effect.”
